Stop keeping quizzes and assignments in two places
The assessments tab of a classroom brings that batch's quizzes and assignments into one list. A teacher can add a new one from there, and filter the list down to what is coming up, what still needs marking and what is still a draft.
How it is done today
When quizzes live in one place and assignments in another, students cannot see what is actually due this week. Teachers have the same trouble in reverse: working out what still needs marking and what has not been released yet means holding two lists side by side.
How it works

Open the batch's assessments tab
Open the classroom and take the assessments tab. That batch's quizzes and assignments are laid out together there rather than in two separate places.

Filter by state
The list can be narrowed to what is coming up, what needs review, what is still a draft, what has been submitted and what has already been graded.

Add a new assessment
A teacher or admin can add a quiz or an assignment from this same tab, setting its title, its due date and its marks without leaving the classroom.

Let students see their own view
Students get their own set of filters, showing what is coming up, what they have already submitted and what has come back with a grade on it.

Frequently asked questions
Do quizzes and assignments really share one list?
Yes. The batch's assessment list pulls both kinds of activity together, which is what makes it possible to see everything due in one week from a single place.
Can a student with unpaid fees see the list?
If the institution has turned on restricting learning while fees are outstanding, the list is closed for that student. It is a rule each institution decides for itself.
What if the batch has no teacher assigned yet?
It still works. When no teacher is attached to the classroom, the assessment is recorded under an admin-owned teacher record instead, so adding one is never blocked.
