Let the important notice stay at the top
The announcements tab of a classroom holds that batch's posts. Pinned ones sit above everything else, and the rest run from newest to oldest. Each post carries the name of whoever wrote it, along with any files that were attached to it.
How it is done today
An announcement in a messaging group is buried under other messages within half an hour. Whoever misses the exam date asks the teacher again privately, and a student who joins later never sees the older notices at all.
How it works

Open the announcements tab
The announcements tab is the one a classroom opens on, so seeing the batch's latest news does not mean going anywhere else first.

Read the pinned posts on top
Anything that has been pinned stays above the rest, which is what keeps things like an exam timetable from sliding out of sight.

Take the attached files
Files attached to a post come through with the post itself, and a post with nothing attached does not leave an empty space where files would be.

Open a single announcement directly
A link to one post scrolls straight to it and rings it briefly, so a message pointing at a specific notice lands on that notice.

Frequently asked questions
Do deleted announcements stay in the list?
No. Deleted posts are left out of the listing, so what students see is only the announcements that still apply to the batch today.
Can students reply to an announcement?
The board is for announcements, and there are no comments or replies on it. Conversations happen through the messaging side of the product instead.
What shows when a batch has no announcements yet?
Instead of an empty page it says plainly that nothing has been posted, and prompts whoever is allowed to post to write the first one.
