Record a class, even when the internet drops
With ClassTablet's Smart Recording, a teacher records a class from the browser using any microphone, or uploads an existing audio or video file. Audio is uploaded in pieces while the class is still running. If the internet drops, the audio waits on the device and the rest uploads by itself when the connection returns.
How it is done today
Many teachers record classes on a phone's voice recorder and then send the file to a WhatsApp group. Sending a ninety-minute file eats the mobile data, or the connection drops halfway and it has to start again. A few weeks later nobody can tell which recording belongs to which batch, because every file is named with nothing but a date and time.
How it works

Give it a title and pick a classroom
On the Smart Recording page, type a name, such as the chapter. Optionally choose the classroom it belongs to, so the summary can later be published straight to that class.

Choose a microphone and start
Pick which phone or laptop microphone to use and press 'Record a Class'. While it runs, the audio is saved on the device every few seconds and uploaded in parts.

A dropped connection does not stop it
If the internet goes mid-class, the capture carries on. Parts not yet sent stay on the device and upload once the connection is back. If the tab closes, the leftover audio uploads the next time you open the page.

Or upload an earlier recording
Drag in an audio or video file you already have, or choose it with 'Browse files'. For a video, the browser pulls out the audio itself, so the full video never has to be uploaded.

Press 'Stop Recording' and you are done
When class is over, press 'Stop Recording'. One recording can run up to two hours. With credits, the summary starts straight away; without them the audio is kept and the summary starts once credits are bought.

Frequently asked questions
Will I lose the recording if the internet drops mid-class?
No. The microphone keeps capturing and any part not yet uploaded stays on the device. When the connection returns, ClassTablet sends the rest on its own, with nothing for you to do.
Can I record on a mobile phone?
Yes. Open ClassTablet in the phone's browser and record directly, with no app to install. Use the phone's own microphone or a plugged-in mic, whichever you prefer.
Can I make notes from a Zoom or classroom video?
Yes. Upload the video file and the browser extracts its audio, which the summary is made from. You can also upload an audio file directly.
Does recording use credits?
No. Recording and uploading are free. AI credits are only used when the summary is made, by the minute of recording. Running out of credits never deletes the audio; it stays saved.
