Take a quiz back off the batch it should not have gone to
The quiz editor's settings list every classroom the quiz has been given to. Dropping one from that list removes the quiz from that class's quiz list. The quiz itself is not deleted, and it carries on as before in any other classroom it was assigned to.
How it is done today
Picking the wrong batch while setting up a quiz is easy to do, especially when three sections of the same subject have nearly identical names. Students then see a test that is not on their chapter at all, and the teacher finds out from the messages rather than from the software.
How it works

Open the quiz and go to its settings
Open the quiz from your classroom's quiz list and go to the settings section. It lists every classroom the quiz is currently assigned to.

Drop the wrong classroom
The list behaves as a multiple selection of classrooms. Deselecting the one you no longer want takes the quiz off that class straight away.

The class you opened from stays
The classroom you opened the quiz through cannot be removed from here. To take that one off, open the quiz through one of the other classrooms instead.

The quiz itself is kept
Removing it from a classroom is not deleting it. The quiz and its questions stay as they were, and it carries on in any other class it was given to.

Frequently asked questions
Does removing it from a class delete the quiz?
No. The quiz and its questions stay with you. Only the link to that classroom goes, so students in that class no longer see it in their list.
Why can I not remove the class I opened the quiz from?
The classroom the editor was opened through cannot be dropped in that state, because the quiz would vanish from the very place you are working in.
Can I remove a quiz from another teacher's class?
Only where you are a teacher in that classroom yourself. If you are not, the change is refused. An administrator for the institution is not held to that limit.
