Update recorded attendance without crossing anything out
In ClassTablet a teacher can reopen a saved attendance record and change any student's status, for example from absent to late. Only the teacher who took it or an institution admin can do this, and the system keeps the previous status and who changed it for every edit.
How it is done today
Fixing a paper register means crossing out, and a few weeks later nobody can tell which mark was the real one. A student who walks in ten minutes late stays absent because the register has already gone to the office. And anyone who opens the register can change a mark without leaving a trace.
How it works

Find the record
For today's class, tap Review in Smart Today. For an earlier date, open that day's class from the Calendar view or the Classrooms view.

Change the status
Next to the student whose status is wrong, pick the right one: present, absent, late or excused. You can also select several students and change them at once.

Save the update
Tap Update Attendance. The change is saved and the class's totals for present, absent and late are recounted.

Changes are logged
For every change the system records the old status, the new status and who made it. The student sees the corrected status next to their class straight away.

Frequently asked questions
Can any teacher change another teacher's attendance?
No. Only the teacher who took the attendance or an institution admin can change that record. ClassTablet refuses the edit for anyone else.
If I change absent to present, do parents get another message?
No. Parent alerts go out when attendance is first confirmed. Correcting the record later sends no new alert or message, so tell the parent yourself if it matters.
Can I fix attendance from a few days ago?
Yes. Open any earlier date from the Calendar or Classrooms view and correct it. There is no fixed cut-off for edits in the system.
