Choosing which answers count towards the total
Where a paper says answer any three of seven, the teacher can replace the selection that was made automatically and name exactly which of the answers count towards the total. Every answer already carries a mark of its own, so changing the choice needs no re-marking at all.
How it is done today
A student answers four and three will count, but which three is often the teacher's judgement. Some institutions count the first three, others the ones the student did best on. That policy belongs to the institution, not to the software.

Frequently asked questions
Does changing the selection cost credits?
No. Every answer already carries a mark, including those not counted, so changing the selection is not a re-mark and costs nothing.
Can you just change how many count?
The teacher names which answers count rather than setting a number. That keeps it clear afterwards exactly which three were counted.
Are the marks on set-aside answers visible?
Yes. Answers that were not counted are still marked and their marks are shown; they are simply not added in. So you can compare before choosing.
Can the selection be changed while marking runs?
