Type marks row by row, and see who is still missing
Opening an exam in the ClassTablet gradebook lists every student in the classroom as a row with a box for their score. Typing a mark and saving stores it, and the box will not take more than the exam total. A counter at the top shows how many students are graded out of how many there are.
How it is done today
Copying a hundred marks into a spreadsheet goes wrong when one row slips, and the wrong student ends up with the wrong mark until a parent rings to query it. Working out who was missed is its own job too, because an empty cell and a zero look identical once the file has been passed around.

Open the exam
Pick the exam from the gradebook list. Every student in the classroom appears below it as their own row, in a single list.

Type the marks
Enter a score in the box beside each name. The box is capped at the exam's total, so a slip of the keyboard cannot award more than the paper was worth.

Save the row
Changing a score enables the save control on that row. Saving stores just that student's mark and leaves every other row exactly as it was.

Check the counter
The header shows how many students are graded out of the total, so finding who was missed does not mean reading down the list against a register.

Frequently asked questions
Do quiz and assignment marks need typing too?
No. Results from quizzes and assignments taken in ClassTablet arrive in the gradebook as their own columns. The only marks you type by hand are the ones from exams sat on paper.
Does changing one mark mean saving everyone?
No. Only the row you changed offers to save, and saving stores that one student's mark. Every other row is left untouched, so there is no risk of overwriting work.
Can I enter marks across several sittings?
Yes. Whatever you have entered is stored, and you can come back later for the rest. The counter at the top tells you how many are still outstanding.
Can students see their marks here?
No. The gradebook is for teachers and admins. Telling a student or parent a result is a separate step, done by sending a result SMS.
