Adding more scripts to a session
An open session takes more scripts whenever you have them, and marking starts as they go in. Credits are charged by the page, so a four-page script costs four credits. The whole batch is checked against your balance before any of it starts.

A batch of scripts never arrives all at once. Some come in on the day, some the next morning, and the absentee's paper turns up a week later. Opening a new session each time scatters one exam's results across three places and makes the totals hard to reconcile.

What happens if credits are short?
The whole batch is costed first, and if the balance will not cover it nothing starts. That avoids half the scripts being marked and the rest left stranded.
How many times can scripts be added?
As often as you need. Late scripts and absentees added days afterwards still land in the same session, so the whole exam stays in one place.
Can adding ever be blocked?
Yes, if marking has been paused for maintenance. You are told plainly that it is temporarily paused rather than having the work queued quietly.
