See how far the import has got, on screen
Once a ClassTablet import starts, the admin sees a progress bar and a count of how many rows are done out of the total, refreshed on its own every two seconds. When the job ends it says whether the import succeeded or failed, and how many people were created, updated, added to the institution, skipped or stopped by errors.
How it is done today
After uploading hundreds of students at once, the admin can't tell whether the job has finished. Some keep refreshing the page, others upload the same file again just in case, which risks bringing the list in twice. Who got left out then has to be tracked down afterwards.

Progress shows as soon as it starts
After you confirm, an Importing... card shows a progress bar and how many users are processed out of the total.

It updates by itself
Progress is saved after every 50 rows, and the page fetches new numbers every two seconds on its own. There is nothing to refresh.

Read the result at the end
When the job ends you see Import complete or Import failed, with separate counts for success, warnings, errors, skipped, updated and added to the institution.

Fix the ones left out
If errors or skipped aren't zero, correct those rows in your file and upload them again in a small separate file, not the whole list.

Frequently asked questions
Can we close the page while the import runs?
The job runs in the background on the server, so closing the page doesn't stop the import. Keep it open to watch progress and see the result directly.
Can another institution see our import details?
No. Each import's status is visible only to admins of the institution that ran it. A request for the same job from another institution's account returns nothing.
What do the result counts mean?
Success means a new account, updated means an existing account's details changed, added to org means an existing account joined your institution, and skipped means you chose to leave it out.
