Find out whether you hold a Zoom host while setting the class up
When a classroom runs on Zoom, the link part of the class scheduling sheet shows the teacher's own assigned Zoom host along with its sign-in email. If no host is assigned, that row does not appear at all, so it is clear while the class is being set up.
How it is done today
A teacher does not know whether they are set up to run a Zoom class until they try. Getting stuck creating the link at the start of a lesson means ringing the admin, who may be busy with something else, while the whole batch waits.
How it works

Open the class scheduling sheet
Add a class to the classroom or edit an existing one. The meeting link section sits towards the bottom of the sheet.

Set the days and times
Zoom needs those first, because the Zoom link is created for the whole weekly series. Until they are set, the sheet says so.

Look for the host row
If a host is assigned to you, a row under the link shows that host's sign-in email so you know which account the class will run on.

Ask if the row is missing
No row means no Zoom host is assigned to you. An institution admin can assign one from the Zoom page in the dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
Can a teacher connect their own Zoom account?
No. The Zoom credentials belong to the institution now, so there is nothing for a teacher to connect. Either a host is assigned to them or it is not.
Can I see other teachers' hosts?
No. Only your own assigned host is shown. When an admin sets a class up on a teacher's behalf, the row stays empty.
What shows if the classroom uses Google Meet?
The host row does not appear, because it is only for Zoom classrooms. On Google Meet the same place carries the controls for creating a Meet link.
