See which hosts are free before class time
The hosts across an institution's Zoom accounts are listed together, each one with whoever currently holds it. An account with no host set up yet still gets a row of its own, so an account nobody finished setting up does not quietly go unnoticed.
How it is done today
With several Zoom accounts and a pile of hosts, nobody can keep track of which are in use and which are free. It gets discovered at class time that no host is available, and by then there is nothing to be done about it.
How it works
- 1
Open the Zoom settings
The Zoom section of the institution's settings loads the accounts and the hosts together rather than one after the other.
- 2
Read the host rows
Each host carries the account it belongs to and who it is currently assigned to, on the same row.
- 3
Spot the empty accounts
An account with no host yet appears as its own row, which is how an account nobody has finished setting up becomes visible.
- 4
Read the status counts
The counts by account status sit above the table, so an account in trouble shows up before anybody reads the rows.

Frequently asked questions
Does the listing carry Zoom secrets?
No. Host rows are mapped into a form meant for display, and the stored client secrets never leave the server alongside the listing.
Can another institution's hosts be seen?
No. The listing is scoped to the caller's own institution, so one institution's admin cannot read another institution's host pool.
Can one account's hosts be listed alone?
Yes. The listing can be filtered to a single account, which matters once an institution runs several of them side by side.
