A student's home page carries the work due within the next forty eight hours. Each item names the batch, the subject and when the deadline falls. Anything under six hours away is shown in a different colour with a submit button on it.

A deadline is usually said once in class and then written down nowhere. Students forget, submit late or miss it entirely, and the teacher ends up reminding everyone individually every time.

The list is ordered by when the work is due, so whatever has to go in first is the thing at the top of it.

With less than six hours left an item switches colour and carries a submit button, rather than reading the same as everything else.

Frequently asked questions
Does a notice stay after the work is submitted?
No. Once the student submits, the item drops off the list, which means everything still showing on the home page is genuinely outstanding.
Do exam marks appear here as well?
No. Manually entered exams belong to the gradebook rather than to a student's submissions, so they are deliberately kept out of this list.
Does it show work due much later?
No. Only work due within forty eight hours appears, and anything whose deadline has already passed is left out of the list too.
