No email is not a lost account
A forgotten password can be recovered with either an email address or a phone number. An email gets a link for setting a new password. A phone number gets a six digit code, and the new password is set on that same screen without leaving it.
How it is done today
The familiar way of recovering a password rests entirely on email. A large share of students and parents in Bangladesh have no email of their own, so without a second route they end up queuing at the institution office instead.
How it works

Open the forgot password page
Follow the forgot password link from the sign-in screen. There is a single field on it.

Give your email or phone number
Enter whichever the account was opened with. The route is chosen from what you typed.

Check your email if you gave one
A link for setting a new password is sent, and that link takes you to the right page.

Enter the code if you gave a phone
Type the six digit code. If it does not arrive it can be sent again, after a short wait between tries.

Set the new password
On the phone route, once the code matches, the new password is set on that same screen.
