A phone number is enough
Opening an account takes your name, one identifier and a password. The identifier can be an email address or a phone number, whichever you have, and never both. The field works out which of the two you are typing as you go.
How it is done today
Most education software in Bangladesh treats an email address as compulsory. School students and a great many parents do not have one; what they have is a phone number, and that is the identity everybody already knows them by.

Open the sign-up page
Go to the sign-up page. The name field is the first thing on it.

Enter your name
Use the name you want to be known by in class, because this is the name other people see.

Give an email or a phone number
One field takes either. It changes type as you type, according to which of the two you have entered.

Set a password
Choose a password you will remember. It is what you will sign in with from then on.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need both an email and a phone number?
No. One field takes either of them, and it works out which one you have typed as you enter it.
My institution made me an account. Do I sign up too?
No. People whose institution opened an account for them sign in by finding that institution instead of creating a second account.
Can I change my name afterwards?
Yes. The name can be changed from your profile page, so a mistake at sign-up is not permanent.
