Changing a student's enrolment status
A teacher can keep a student enrolled in their class active, or take them off the list entirely. One thing matters a great deal here: the change is not limited to a single class. It applies at once across every classroom that teacher runs.
How it is done today
When a student stops coming, their name stays on the attendance list, a bill is raised every month, and the overdue reminders keep going out. Somebody has to take the name off, and usually nobody does, because it is never clear whose job it is.

It has to be your student
The system first checks the student is enrolled in one of your classrooms. A teacher with no classrooms cannot do this at all.

Choose the status
A teacher can keep the student active, or take them off the list. Taking them off is not a deletion; the enrolment record stays.

Across all your classes at once
The change applies to every classroom you teach, not only the one you happen to have open. Worth knowing if the student is in several of them.

The student is not told
No message goes to the student on this action, unlike approving or rejecting a join request, where a notice is sent.

Once the status changes, the student drops out of your active class list, so they stop appearing in attendance and in the billing run.

Frequently asked questions
Can a student be removed from just one class?
Not this way. The change applies across every classroom the teacher runs. To take a student off one particular class, use that classroom's own student list instead.
Does removing delete the student?
No. Both the student's account and their enrolment record remain; only the status changes. Past attendance and results are not lost.
Does the student find out?
No notification or message is sent on this action. They will simply not see the class on their own list the next time they open the app.
Can a student from another class be changed?
No. The student has to be enrolled in one of your own classrooms, otherwise nothing happens and the reason is given.
