Get the student who enrolled today into the app today
From the students list, the add member sheet lets a teacher create a student's account with their name, the classroom they join and either a phone number or an email. An institution ID can be added too. A temporary password is then shown once.
How it is done today
A newly enrolled student waits for the admin to create their account, and the admin may only be in twice a week. Until then the student cannot see assignments, does not appear in attendance, and the teacher keeps their name on a separate piece of paper.
How it works

Start from the students list
Press the add member button on the Students page. A sheet opens from the side asking for the new student's details.

Enter a name and contact
Give the full name and at least one of email or phone. The sheet will not continue without one of the two.

Add the ID and classroom
Add the institution's own ID if you use one, which lets the student sign in by ID later, and choose the classroom they are joining.

Hand over the temporary password
Once created, a temporary password is shown once. Copy it for the student; if they gave an email, it is sent there as well.

If the email or phone already belongs to an account, that account is linked instead of a second one being created, and the screen says which happened.

Frequently asked questions
What if that phone already has an account?
No duplicate is made. The existing account is linked to the institution instead, and the screen says it was linked rather than created.
Can I see the temporary password again later?
No. The dialog says it will not be shown again. If it is lost, reset the password from the row actions to generate a new one.
Does the student have to keep that password?
No. They are asked to set their own the first time they sign in, so the temporary one does not stay in anyone's hands for long.
Can a teacher add another teacher this way?
No. A teacher's version of this is for students in their own classrooms. Adding teachers is the institution admin's job.
