Once you have taken enough applications, a live form can be closed. Its public address stops opening, so no new applications arrive. Submissions already in, the published versions and the address itself all remain, and the next intake reopens by publishing the same form again.
How it is done today
Long after the closing date, the old link is still in a Facebook post and on the coaching centre wall. Somebody opens it, applies, and has to be phoned and turned down. Applications that keep arriving after the seats are gone only make the list heavier to read.

The editor's menu carries the option to close the form, and choosing it asks for confirmation so it cannot happen by a stray tap.

After closing, the old link no longer finds the form, because only a live form is ever served to somebody outside the institution.

Everyone who applied is still there with their details, exactly as before. Closing the form is not the same as clearing what came in.

Does the form close itself when seats run out?
No. Once the seats are gone, new applicants go onto a waiting list and the form stays live. Stopping admissions altogether means closing the form by hand.
Can a closed form be reopened?
Yes. Publishing a closed form makes it live again and stores the questions and fees of that moment as a new version. The public address stays the same one as before.
Can a draft form be closed?
No, only a live form can be closed. A draft is not reachable from outside the institution anyway, so there is nothing about it that needs closing.
