The teacher decides which recordings students get
Every row in a classroom's recordings list carries a Publish button for teachers. Press it on a recording that is ready and the badge changes from Draft to Published, and enrolled students find it in their own recordings list. Before that, the recording is a draft only the teacher can see.
How it is done today
Not every recording should go to everyone. One class discussed the exam paper, another has audio so poor that nobody will follow it, and in a third the teacher told off one student by name. Releasing everything at once sends those out too, and somebody has watched before you can pull it back.
How it works

Open the Recordings tab
Go to the classroom's Recordings tab. As a teacher you see both draft and published recordings there; students see only the published ones.

Pick a recording that is ready
Publish only works on a row marked ready. A recording still being fetched, or one that never arrived, cannot be released and the button stays disabled.

Press Publish
A 'Recording published' message appears at once, the row's badge changes from Draft to Published, and the list reloads with the new state.

Students can watch it
Once published, students enrolled in the classroom can open and download it from their own Recordings tab. Anyone not enrolled cannot open that list at all.

What happens automatically
The recording arrives from the meeting service on its own and its state changes when the file is ready, leaving the teacher only the decision to release it.

Frequently asked questions
Can students get a recording that was never published?
No. A student's recordings list contains published recordings only. A draft is neither visible nor downloadable to them until a teacher releases it.
Do I have to publish every recording by hand?
You do not. The classroom's meeting settings can send recordings to students automatically, or leave every one of them for the teacher to release.
Are students notified when I publish?
No separate notice goes out. Once published, the recording simply appears in the classroom's Recordings tab, which is where students look for it.
Can an assistant or admin publish recordings?
The Publish button is for a teacher of the classroom. An enrolled student can see the list but has no publish or unpublish button on it.
