Send SMS to parents without typing a single number
In ClassTablet an institution admin sends SMS from SMS Tools to a few chosen people or to a whole classroom. Picking a classroom lets you include those students' parents with one tick. Before sending, the system shows how many credits will be used, and credits for any message that fails are refunded automatically.
How it is done today
To announce a cancelled class, many institutions still send texts one by one from the office phone, or paste numbers from Excel into a separate bulk SMS company's panel. The number list goes stale, a parent with two children gets the same message twice, and nobody knows what a Bangla message costs until it has gone.
How it works

Choose who gets it
On the SMS Tools page, tap Send SMS. Under Individuals, search people by name or phone number; under Classrooms, pick an entire batch.

Add the parents
When a classroom is selected, tick 'Also send to parents of students'. Parents linked to those students get it too, and no phone number receives more than one copy.

Write it and see the cost
Write up to 918 characters in Bangla or English. Underneath you see how many SMS the message becomes and the estimated credits. A Bangla SMS holds about 70 characters.

Confirm and send
The confirmation shows how many people will receive it, the credits to be used and the balance after. When it finishes you see how many it reached, the credits used and the balance left.

Frequently asked questions
Do parents without a smartphone get the SMS?
Yes. SMS goes to an ordinary mobile number, with no app or internet needed. The parent's number just has to be linked to the student in ClassTablet.
Can teachers send SMS themselves?
General SMS can only be sent by the institution admin. Teachers can send exam result SMS from the gradebook, which draws on the same credit balance.
Does a Bangla SMS use more credits?
Yes. One SMS holds 160 characters in English but 70 in Bangla. Each SMS part costs one credit per recipient, and the total is shown before you send.
What happens if we run out of credits?
If the balance is too low, ClassTablet does not send at all rather than stopping halfway. Buy credits first, then send again.
