Keep the morning shift's news in the morning shift
Opening a section gives it a page of its own. The top carries the section name, its status, the days and times it meets, its subjects and how many students are enrolled. Announcements, files and assignments sit underneath as three separate tabs.
How it is done today
When one batch runs two shifts, each shift's announcements reach the other shift's students too. Files meant for the morning group get downloaded by the evening group, and questions about which assignment belongs to whom never stop.

Go into the section from the classroom
Opening a section from the main batch gives it a page of its own, with a link back at the top so returning to the batch is one click.

Read the header
The section's status, which days and times it meets, which subjects it covers and how many students it holds are all set out in one line.

Take the announcements and files tabs
The announcements tab holds what has been posted to this section and the files tab holds the files shared with it, not those of the other sections.

Check the assignments tab
This section's assignments sit in their own tab, which is what stops the confusion about which piece of work belongs to which shift.

Frequently asked questions
Does the page show the section's student limit?
Yes. How many students are enrolled and the largest number the section takes are shown side by side, so how many places are left is immediately readable.
What appears if the section cannot be found?
Rather than an empty page, it says plainly that the section was not found or could not be loaded, so there is no doubt about what happened.
Where do the section's class times come from?
They are the timetable entered when the section was created, shown as the days it meets along with the time the class starts and finishes.
