Who is at the institution, and what they can do
An institution's administrator can see the list of members, open an account for someone new, change a person's role, make an account active or inactive, and decide which classrooms someone belongs to. Every action checks first that the request came from an administrator.
The pages below take member management one task at a time: seeing the list, opening accounts, placing people in classrooms and changing status.
Features in this area
- Somebody leaving is not a reason to delete them
Close off access when somebody leaves, without deleting their account or their history. There are four statuses: active, suspended, graduated and removed.
- Nobody has to be left out for want of an email
An administrator opens the account for a teacher, student or parent. Either an email or a phone number is enough, so you do not need both to create it.
- Where people land after they are admitted
Place a teacher or a student into one classroom or several. It works for a single person from their row, or for a group you tick off in the list.
- The short way to seat somebody you already know
Give somebody who already has an account a role at your institution, or change the role they hold, without going through the account creation step.
- A misspelled name is not worth a second account
Correct a misspelled name, a changed phone number, the institution's own ID or the wrong role, straight from the member list rather than starting over.
- A forgotten password should not cost a class
When somebody forgets their password an administrator can issue a temporary one. The old password stops working and every signed-in device is logged out.
- Two letters of a name is enough
When a classroom needs a teacher, type part of a name or email and the matching teachers come up, instead of scrolling a list of the whole staff.
- One list of everyone at the institution
One list of the teachers, students and parents at your institution, each row carrying their role, status, classrooms and the date they joined.
- Nobody edits somebody above their own level
Your own role in the institution is worked out first, and that is what decides whose role and whose status you are actually allowed to change.
