Leaving a class is not leaving the institution
An administrator can take a student out of a classroom from its student list. Only that classroom's enrollment goes; the student's membership of the institution stays. The classroom's student count drops by one and is never allowed to fall below zero.
How it is done today
Changing batch is routine at coaching centres and schools in Bangladesh. If the software treats leaving a class and leaving the institution as the same act, a student who only moved section disappears from the roll entirely.
How it works

Open the classroom's student list
Go to the student list of the classroom you are removing somebody from.

Find the student
Locate the person in the list, checking the email beside the name if two of them are similar.

Remove them
Use the remove action on that row. Their enrollment in the classroom is lifted straight away.

Check the count
The classroom's student count drops by one, so the list and the number stay in step.

Frequently asked questions
Is the student's account deleted?
No. Only their enrollment in that classroom is lifted. Their account and their membership of the institution are untouched.
What about their other classrooms?
Those stay. The action reaches only the classroom you removed them from, and every other enrollment is left alone.
What if the student was not in that class?
Nothing happens. The request comes back saying no enrollment was found for them in that classroom.
