One student's whole picture on one page
A student's attendance, the classrooms they are in and the work they have submitted all sit on one page. Four kinds of person can open it: the student, a linked parent, a teacher sharing an active classroom with them, and an admin of that institution.
How it is done today
Talking about one student means attendance in one place, submitted work in another and their class list in a third. When a parent phones, the teacher is assembling an answer across three pages while the conversation moves on without them.

Attendance, classrooms and submitted work sit in separate sections of the same page, so the whole picture comes from one place.

Any one of four conditions
The student themselves, a linked parent, a teacher sharing a classroom, or an institution admin. Meeting any one of those opens the page.

The link has to be active
For a teacher the enrolment must be active, and for a parent the link must be active. Once the relationship ends, so does the access.

Closed to everyone else
Meeting none of the four conditions means the page does not open, and the refusal says so rather than showing an empty page.

Frequently asked questions
Can any teacher open any student's page?
No. The teacher has to share an active classroom with that student. Remove the enrolment and the page stops opening for them.
Can a parent see their child's page?
Yes, while the link is active. End the link between parent and student and they can no longer open it.
Do institution admins see every student?
An admin's access follows from the classrooms in their organisation that the student is actively enrolled in, rather than being a blanket right over everybody.
Can details be changed from here?
This page is for reading. Correcting a name or phone number is a separate action, available only to a teacher whose classroom the student is enrolled in.
