Correcting a student's name and phone number
A teacher can correct the name and phone number of any student enrolled in one of their own classrooms. Inside an organisation, which institution the student belongs to can be set too. Records outside the teacher's own classes cannot be touched this way.
How it is done today
A name misspelled at admission is a common thing in Bangladesh, and a parent's number changes more than once a year. The wrong name then goes onto the attendance list and onto the results, and texts go to a number nobody answers. Getting it corrected usually means chasing the office.
How it works

You need a teacher profile
Whoever is making the correction needs their own teacher profile and at least one classroom. Without either, the action does not begin.

The student has to be yours
The system checks that the student really is enrolled in one of your classrooms. If not, nothing is changed and the reason is given.

Change the name and number
The name and phone number can both be corrected. Inside an organisation, which institution the student belongs to can be set here too.

Academic details are separate
Board, medium and group cannot be changed here. Those live on the student's own academic profile, in a different place.

Frequently asked questions
Can a student from another class be edited?
No. The system first checks whether that student is enrolled in one of your classrooms, and refuses if not. A teacher with no classrooms at all cannot use this either.
Can the board or group be changed here?
No. Only the name, phone number and institution are changed here. Board, medium, version and group live on the student's own academic profile.
Can a student's role be changed here?
No. We do not claim role changes on this action. A student stays a student; this is not a way to turn them into anything else.
Is the student told after a correction?
No message is sent on this action. The student sees the corrected name or number when they next look at their own profile.
