Open a parent account and link your child in two minutes
In ClassTablet a parent's account is created as soon as they choose Parent when signing up. They then link their child by typing the email or phone number on the child's ClassTablet account. Once linked, their home page shows the child's classes, upcoming work, recent results and attendance.
How it is done today
Parents check on their child by phoning the teacher or asking in the batch WhatsApp group. What the quiz score was, when the next exam is, whether the child went to class today: teachers end up taking calls late at night, and a parent with two children in two classes has twice the trouble.

Sign up as a parent
The parent opens a ClassTablet account and picks Parent as their role in the first step. Their parent profile is created right then.

Type the child's email or phone
In Link to Your Child, enter the email or phone number on the child's account and pick the relationship. This step can be skipped for later.

The child's news on your home page
Once linked, the home page shows upcoming classes, quizzes and deadlines, recent quiz and assignment results, attendance, and the class list with teacher contacts.

Frequently asked questions
Does a parent pay to open an account?
Parents pay nothing themselves. The parent portal comes with the institution's Standard or Custom plan; on Standard the institution pays ৳20 per student per month.
How do I link a child who has no email?
With the phone number on the child's account. It has to be the number or email the child uses to sign in to ClassTablet, otherwise the link is not made.
Can a parent put their child in a new class?
Yes. With the classroom invite code from the teacher, the parent uses Add to Classroom in their portal to add the child to that class.
Do parents get any news automatically?
Yes. An absence sends an alert in the app, by push and by email, and an unpaid fee sends an in-app and email reminder. Both can be turned off in their settings.
