Join online classes from the routine, not a group link
In ClassTablet a student sees today's classes on their home page as soon as they log in, with a Join button next to whichever one is live. The classroom's Classes tab also has Join Class on every lesson, which opens the Zoom or Google Meet link. A reminder arrives in the app and by push 30 minutes before it starts.
How it is done today
Class links live in a Messenger or WhatsApp group, buried under hundreds of messages. Students lose minutes hunting for the link, someone sits in last week's old meeting, and nobody told about a cancelled class waits in an empty meeting room.

Gets a reminder
Thirty minutes before start the student hears in the ClassTablet app and through a push notification on their phone which lesson is about to begin.

Sees Today's Schedule at home
The Today's Schedule card shows each class as starting in so many minutes, live or done. A Join button appears next to whichever one is live.

Presses Join Class
The button is in the classroom's Classes tab too. From 10 minutes before start it reads Join Class, and pressing it opens Zoom or Meet in a new tab.

Attendance fills itself in
When the institution's Zoom or Meet is connected to ClassTablet, the student's attendance comes from the meeting after class, with no roll call.

Frequently asked questions
Could a student walk into a cancelled class?
No. When the teacher cancels a class, the list marks it Cancelled and removes the Join Class button, and it drops off Today's Schedule on the home page too.
Do students need a Gmail?
Not for Zoom. On Google Meet set to invite-only, enrolled students with a Gmail walk straight in, while others need the teacher to let them in.
Can students join from a phone?
Yes. Open ClassTablet in the phone's browser and tap Join Class; the Zoom or Google Meet link opens in whichever of them the phone has.
What if a student goes straight into Zoom, not via ClassTablet?
Attendance comes from the meeting's participant list, so being in that class's meeting is what counts. If the name does not match, the teacher matches it by hand later.
