Not every batch wants points
Points can be switched on or off for each batch separately, and the unit can be set to XP or to stars. Turning them on puts the leaderboard tab into that classroom, and leaving them off keeps the tab out of it altogether.
How it is done today
Stars work with younger children and feel childish in an admission test batch. Forcing one arrangement on every batch makes it meaningless somewhere, and the teacher there stops using it at all.

Open the batch's settings
The points controls sit in the classroom's settings, alongside the rest of its basic information.

Switch it on or off
A single switch turns points on or off for that batch, and leaving it untouched means there is nothing to save.

Choose the unit
Decide whether points are counted as XP or as stars. Nothing outside those two is accepted as a unit.

Save
Saving turns the arrangement on for the batch and puts the leaderboard tab into its classroom.

Frequently asked questions
What changes in the classroom when it is on?
The leaderboard tab is added to the classroom. With points off the tab is not there at all, so students never meet an empty page.
Which units are available?
Two: XP and stars. No other name can be set, which keeps the records comparable from one batch to the next.
Can the settings be saved unchanged?
No. Unless either the on and off state or the unit is actually changing, the request is refused and says so rather than doing nothing quietly.
