Bring a guest onto the books properly
Pressing the button on a guest's row and confirming makes them a student member of the institution. At the same time the guest marking is cleared from every enrolment they hold in this institution's classrooms, and a student profile is made sure of for them.
How it is done today
The boy who has been sitting in the batch for three months is still an outsider on paper. Regularising him means adding him to the member list and then clearing the marking on each of his classes separately. Miss one step and he is half a member, which quietly breaks the counts.

The button is on the row
Each guest on the list carries the button to include them, so the decision is taken where you are looking rather than on another page.

Confirmed by name
Pressing it brings up a dialog naming the exact student in question, which makes tapping the wrong row much harder to do by accident.

Membership and profile together
They become a member of the institution in the student role, and if they had no student profile yet, one is made sure of at the same moment.

Every class cleared at once
The guest marking comes off all their enrolments in this institution's classrooms together, rather than having to be fixed class by class.

The whole thing happens as one step, so if anything goes wrong there is no membership without the markings cleared and nothing is left inconsistent.

Frequently asked questions
Can a student from another institution be added?
No. Without a guest enrolment in one of your own institution's classrooms, the request is refused. Somebody who is not sitting in your classes cannot be made a member from here.
Do they stay on the guest list afterwards?
No. With the guest marking cleared from all their enrolments they drop off this list entirely, and from then on they appear among the institution's members.
What if somebody is included by mistake?
This page has no way to undo it. Changes to somebody's membership are made from the members and roles pages, which is where that kind of decision belongs.
