Do not leave cancelled commitments on the calendar
Press one of your own events in the ClassTablet calendar to open it, then press Delete Event. It comes off the calendar and that hour shows as free again, so you can offer the slot for an extra class or a meeting without checking twice.
How it is done today
A meeting that was called off still makes the calendar look busy. The teacher turns down a request for an extra class, or moves it to another day, for an hour that was actually free. After a few weeks there are enough stale events on the page that nobody plans from it any more.
How it works

Press the event
Find the personal event you no longer need and press it. The event dialog opens with the name, times and place exactly as you left them.

Press Delete Event
Use the delete button inside the dialog. It is there only for personal events you created, not for classes or submission deadlines.

The calendar updates
After the delete, the calendar reloads and the event is gone. The slot shows as free again, so something else can go in its place.

If it does not delete, read the reason
If the delete fails, a red message at the top of the screen carries the reason from the server, and the event stays on the calendar until it works.

Frequently asked questions
Can I undo a delete?
No, there is no restore for a deleted event yet. If you remove the wrong one, create it again with the same name and time; it takes only a few seconds to put back.
Can classes be deleted this way?
No. The delete button appears only on personal events. To call off a class, use Cancel Class in the classroom's Classes tab, which also tells students and parents it is not happening.
Does anyone get told when I delete an event?
No. A personal event was only ever on your own calendar, so removing it notifies nobody. Cancelling a class is different: students and linked parents are both told.
