Need the attendance now? Press Sync
The participation page has a Sync button at the top. Pressing it fetches attendance for that date's class from the meeting service there and then. If it takes a while the work carries on in the background and the page updates itself, so there is no need to press it again.
How it is done today
Meeting services do not hand over an attendance report the moment a class ends; it takes a few minutes. A teacher who wants to tell parents right away who was missing has to wait for the scheduled pull. Refreshing the page does not help, because nothing new has been fetched yet.
How it works

Open the class participation page
Pick the online class from the classroom and open its participation page, then choose the date you need from the picker at the top.

Press Sync
Use the Sync button at the top right. While it runs the button reads Syncing and its icon spins, so it is clear something is happening.

Read the result
When it finishes, a 'Participation updated' message appears and the table refills. During a live class the message says the figures describe the meeting as it stands.

Leave it if it is slow
If it takes longer than usual, a message says the pull is continuing in the background and the page will update on its own. There is no need to press again.

Frequently asked questions
Will attendance arrive if I never press Sync?
Yes. Participation is fetched on a schedule without anyone asking. The button is for the times a teacher wants the figures before that happens.
What if it says the class has no meeting yet?
No meeting has been created for that class, so there is nothing to fetch. Generate the class's meeting link from the class schedule and the sync will work after that.
What do I get if I sync during the class?
Who is in the meeting at that moment. Sync again after the class ends and you get the final durations and percentages for the whole lesson.
