Move a class to another day without arranging a makeup class
In ClassTablet a teacher presses Postpone on an upcoming class and gives a new date plus start and end time. It leaves its old date and appears on the new day, and its reminder moves to the new time. Students and linked parents get an in-app and push notice.
How it is done today
When school exams land or the teacher is stuck with another batch, a coaching class has to move to another day. The new day and time go out in the group, the printed routine gets crossed out in pen, and plenty of students still turn up on the old day or forget the new one.
How it works

Press Postpone on the class
In the classroom's Classes tab, press Postpone under the one you want to move. The button is gone once it has ended.

Give the new date and time
The original date is filled in. Pick the new date, which cannot be before the original; the start and end times carry over and can be changed.

Add a reason if you like and confirm
The reason box takes something like 'rescheduled due to exam conflict' but can be left empty. Then press Postpone Class.

Routine and reminders sort themselves out
The old date shows it as Cancelled and the new day's list gains it. The old reminder is dropped and a new one goes out before it starts.

Once the postponement is confirmed, the old date's reminder is removed, a reminder is set for the new date, and students and parents are notified.

Frequently asked questions
Can I just change the time on the same day?
Yes. Keep the same day as the new date and change the start and end times; the class moves to the new time that day and the list marks it Rescheduled.
What if the new day is the class's regular day?
Then ClassTablet puts the postponed class in place of that day's regular class, so the subject is never double booked. If that day already has another change, it cannot be postponed there until that is sorted.
Do we need a new online class link?
The class's Zoom or Meet link stays with the class; postponing does not change it. On the new day students join with Join Class from the class list as usual.
Do parents learn the new time?
Linked parents get a Class Postponed notice in the app and by push, though the notice does not spell out the new day and time. Students see the new day and time in their own class list.
