Put the split in writing

An institution's administrator sets a default share that applies to every teacher at the institution. Anyone given a specific override is paid on that instead of the default. A figure outside nought to a hundred percent is refused rather than stored.

How it is done today

A teacher's share at a coaching centre is usually agreed out loud, and by the end of the month the two people remember it differently. With nothing written down, the same conversation gets had again every month.

How it works

  1. 1

    Open the teacher payouts page

Go to the teacher earnings share page from the institution dashboard.

  2. 2

    Set the default share

Enter the percentage. It applies to every teacher who has no override of their own.

  3. 3

    Add an override where needed

Pick a teacher and set a figure for them. It takes the place of the default for that person.

  4. 4

    Save it

Anything outside nought to a hundred is refused; a valid figure is saved.

Frequently asked questions

Does everybody have to be on the same share?

No. There is one default for everybody, and anyone with an override of their own is on that instead.

What figures are allowed?

Between nought and a hundred percent. Anything outside that is refused with a reminder of the range.

Who can change it?

An institution's administrator, from the institution dashboard. A teacher cannot change their own share.
