No more one wrong digit in the account number
A QR code image can be attached to each of the institution's own payment numbers. JPEG, PNG and WebP images are accepted, anything over two megabytes is refused, and the code is stored against that one number rather than shared.
How it is done today
A student reading a number off a screen and typing it out gets one digit wrong and the money goes to a stranger. Getting it back is hard, and the institution is left taking the student's word that the fee was ever paid.
How it works
- 1
Add the number first
A QR code attaches to a payment number, so the number has to exist before the image is accepted rather than the other way round.
- 2
Provide the code image
Open that number and give it the QR image. It has to be a JPEG, PNG or WebP file and it has to be under two megabytes.
- 3
Check the preview and save
The image can be looked at before anything is committed, and saving attaches it to that number for students to scan.
- 4
Changing the number clears the code
Editing the account number afterwards removes the stored code automatically, so an old QR is never left sitting on a new number.

Frequently asked questions
Which image formats are accepted?
JPEG, PNG and WebP. Anything else is refused, with a message naming the formats that will be accepted rather than a bare failure.
How large can the file be?
Two megabytes. A larger file is refused and the response says plainly that the size limit has been exceeded rather than failing silently.
Who can attach a code?
An institution admin, and both their standing in an active institution and their permission to change payment details are checked first.
