The AI proposes the marks, the teacher decides them
ClassTablet can grade an assignment submission with AI once the student has attached their work as a file. The AI evaluates that attachment against the rubric set for the assignment and proposes a score for each criterion. Nothing is recorded until the teacher reviews those suggestions and finalises the grade.
The whole thing happens in the teacher's own evaluation panel rather than in a separate tool. The pages below take the steps one at a time: where the AI helps, and where the teacher is the one who decides.

Frequently asked questions
Which submissions can be graded with AI?
Only submissions that have a file attached to them. If a student typed their answer straight into the submission box and attached nothing, the AI grading action is not offered for that submission.
Does the AI give students their marks?
No. The AI only fills suggested scores into the teacher's evaluation panel. Finalising the grade is a separate action the teacher takes, and nothing reaches the student before that happens.
Can a teacher change what the AI suggested?
Yes. Every criterion score and the overall feedback stay editable. The teacher can accept a suggestion, adjust it, or set the marks themselves and disregard the suggestion altogether.
Can AI grading be switched off?
Yes. An administrator can pause AI grading for the whole institution. While it is paused, starting the action reports that it is temporarily unavailable and teachers mark the submission by hand as before.
