Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 1, 2026

ClassTablet (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the ClassTablet platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service. We take the privacy of students, teachers, and parents seriously.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, role (teacher, student, or parent), and classroom data. For students, we collect only the minimum data necessary to provide educational services — assignment submissions, attendance records, and grades.

We automatically collect usage data such as device type, browser, IP address, and pages visited to improve our service. We do not use this data for advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and maintain the ClassTablet platform, including classroom management, attendance tracking, assignment distribution, grading, and parent notifications. We also use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our product.

3. Student Data Protection

We comply with applicable student data protection laws including FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). We never sell student data. We never use student data for advertising. Student data is only accessible to authorized teachers, the student, and their linked parents or guardians.

4. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES‑256). We conduct regular security audits and maintain SOC 2 compliance. Access to production data is restricted and logged. We maintain a 99.9% uptime SLA with redundant infrastructure.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, email delivery, analytics) under strict data processing agreements. We may disclose information if required by law.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Teachers can export classroom data. Parents can request a copy of their child's data. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@classtablet.com.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.

8. Children's Privacy

ClassTablet is designed for use in educational settings. Student accounts are created by teachers or school administrators. We collect only educationally necessary data from students under the direction of the school, consistent with COPPA and FERPA requirements.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on our platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
